Our story

We cook the way our grandmothers did on the islands: with live fire, good olive oil and patience. Everything on the menu passes through the hearth, from bread baked at noon to fish landed at dawn.

The chef

“Fire is honest. It doesn’t forgive a lazy ingredient, so we only buy the ones worth cooking.”

Nikos Marou, chef & co-owner

Raised between Crete and Marseille, Nikos cooked in harbour kitchens for fifteen years before opening Olvenna with his sister Elena, who runs the wine list. They source from twelve small farms and two day-boat fishermen, and they change the menu almost every week.

★★★★★

“The best thing to happen to the waterfront in a decade. Order the lamb shoulder and cancel your plans.”
